I'm having the same problem, I looked for adblock under tools but, it isn't there. I then checked in quick time to make sure that flash file was not selected in the control panel hiding under miscelaneaous, it wasn't.
I can't uninstall adblock because I can't find it, it must be playing hide n seek? Any advice?

Hi,
I was able to access the flash based live soccer match update window before installing Firefox 1.0.7. After installing whenever I go and click that Gamecast (From www.soccernet.com), it asks me to download and install Flash 5 plug-in. I tried downloading the flash player and installed but that could not help. Any idea?

Funny, It worked for me after I reinstalled the adblock. I had uninstalled it because the version wouldn't work for 1.0.6 but its updated now. (And using the 1.0.7 version now)
Jazzmen - Look under tools - extensions if you don't see adblock on the list, it might be there still.
And if anything you can always try typing this into the adress bar: about:plugins
thats what worked for the 1.0.6 version since it had a problem with locating plugins, but the latest version should be fine.. at least its working fine now for me.

OK I checked under tools again and extensions still not there and I know that it is still active. I was having this problem before I had downloaded the current version of Firefox I was aware something was not working right when I received several emails with photos and the dreaded X that took the photos place. I will do the search again for plugins, It's getting a little frustrating repeating the same steps. Each time Firefox tells me that the plugins have downloaded and I still have the same problem.

I was totally freaking out & getting really mad at Macromedia. I re-installed several older versions of Flash (sort of :S) and Firefox to no avail. I came here & saw this.
Disableing OBJ-TABS worked. Now I can stop freaking out... because I work with website Flash & it would really suck if I couldn't view it..

help with flash
I'm getting ready to use the razor blade. Someone help me.
I'm having the same problem as many of the posts here and have tried everything suggested to fix it to no avail. Flash will not "play" and I get the Quicktime Q with a question mark in it on sites with Flash.
-I have checked Quicktime preferences and there is not a check mark next to Flash - no help
-I have installed and reinstalled both Flash player 7 and 8 - no help
-about:plugins says:
File name: NPSWF32.dll
Shockwave Flash 8.0 r22
MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled
application/x-shockwave-flash Macromedia Flash movie swf Yes
application/futuresplash FutureSplash movie spl Yes
(this looks right to me) - no help
-I do not have adblock - no help
-I have removed pluginreg.dat and reinstalled Flash - no help
-I have checked in "tools", "options", "downloads", "plugins" and there is no listing for swf files so I can't check mark it - no help
-I uninstalled Quicktime but then Firefox gave me a window saying I needed to install Quicktime to view some of the content on the website (referring to what is supposed to be Flash), so I reinstalled it - no help
I think this is everything I have tried. Did I miss a "fix"? I love firefox and I have everything in it set just the way I want it so I would rather not uninstall and reinstall. Losing all my extensions, plugins, themes...
Its almost like Firefox is ignoring Flash or Quicktime has hijacked Firefox and won't let it change the settings. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. thanks

The problem I am having is not that I can't see flash animation in my firefox, but that when a page has some of it, my cpu gets up to almost full activity. If I have two pages opened and both have flash animation, forget it. It takes me 5 minutes to close the first page.
It is only lately that I have been having problems with this. Weird because I did not manually update anything.

Firefox and Flash
Hi,
I still can't get flash to work with Firefox. I tried all the above solutions and nothing works. Went back to firefox 1.0.4 and flash displays fine. Flash failed in 1.0.6 as well.
What changed from Firefox 1.0.4 to 1.0.6/7?
