I thought that was fixed in the same build a build a few days ago. I remember seeing a comment about fixing the height with the new mail notification window. if not, please let me know the bug # if you file one...btw how do you turn on the new notification?

EDIT: here is where I seen the comment https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312940#c30

so it wasn't completely fixed

How can I switch back to the old notification ?

Will there be an option in future?

I'd been using a theme which broke with the new alert notifications, but now that I've seen them, they are SLICK!

Thanks guys!

EDIT: Hmm, just realized that you can't click on them to open the msg.

I just noticed that somewhere along the line, I presume during an installation across some version boundary, I lost a search folder. I've probably used 1.5.x, 1.6a1 and up to today's 3.0a1 in the last month. I don't use it very often (I think search folders are weird), so I have no idea how long it's been gone; I can't even remember the last time I used this search folder, but it wasn't toooo long ago. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't think I would have deleted it.

I just had an idea: What do you think of this layout-change of thunderbird account settings?

I hate sub-menus like "advanced" or anything else, they make a program very unclear. It's easier for users if there are no sub-menus.
Sometimes you don't see the submenu or don't think that there are so much options in a sub-menu.

So why not combining sub-menu "Advanced" from Server Settings with category "Disk space" ?
There's a lot of free space in category "Disk space" !

Image

-> Result: Easier handling, better usage of free space under category "disk space"

mscott wrote:coldfusion, what is your time interval for how often thunderbird checks for new mail? And are you an IMAP user? Thanks.

1 minute. i use pop3. on startup i get this:

Warning: assignment to undeclared variable pop3Server
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.js
Line: 1946

the next time i get an email, ill check for errors there.

edit: i dont get any errors when the new mail popup comes up.

I have the pref set to true for the new mail nofitication and have ever since it landed but I still have yet to see the new notification, I always get the original. Using a profile since way before 1.0.

I'm also seeing the same new mail popup issue that coldfusion originally reported. coldfusion, you said it was fixed in the trunk build from the 3rd for you. It's still broken for me on the branch build with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060306 Thunderbird/2.0a1 ID:2006030610

I'm using POP. Checking every 3 minutes.

Well the new mail notification is still a few pixels tall for me with today's 2a1 build (default theme - pop3 accounts checking every 10 mins)

Same here. I've tried all of the trunk/branch builds and nothing has it working for me except 03-03-xx for trunk/branch.
