@ MScott;

I Located the source of the problem which prevented ALL Remote images from displaying on my System and
it was due to my Firewall. Somehow a setting was changed in my Firewall which prevented ANY Remote image
from displaying. Upon reviewing permissions tonight, I found and deleted the Block.
ALL Remote images now display.

I Resolved Bug # 331573 Remote Images will not display.

Sorry for the trouble, I should have thought about the firewall from the start.

On my computer, resizing elements in thunderbird with the splitter, e.g. the message pane or folder-view is very slow and it uses up to 100% cpu.
I have a geforce 2 mx400 .. I know, it's not a very new card.
But I don't have such problems with resizing in other programs... what could that be ? or is it a known bug?

Today's branch nightly build seems to be broken. :(

After downloading it (169 kbytes), I clicked on "Restart Thunderbird now"
Thunderbird closes, but doesn't install the new update!
Instead of this, it says that there's a new version available ...

This also happens if I click on "Later" after downloading the update...

thunderbird.exe closes down correctly, so it's not in memory while updating...

What's going wrong?

That's the last active-update.xml , update.xml is exactly the same!

<updates xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/2005/app-update"><update type="minor" name="Thunderbird 2.0a1" version="2.0a1" extensionVersion="1.5" detailsURL="http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/releases/" licenseURL="undefined" serviceURL=
"https://aus2.mozilla.org/update/1/Thunderbird/2.0a1/2006032608/WINNT_x86-msvc/en-US/nightly/update.xml" installDate="1143490556710" statusText="Install Pending" buildID="2006032709"
isCompleteUpdate="false" channel="nightly" licenseAccepted="false" foregroundDownload="true"><patch type="complete" URL="http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/2006-03-27-10-mozilla1.8/
thunderbird-2.0a1.en-US.win32.mar" hashFunction="MD5" hashValue="33e9b92cfc506178798817cb0688592b"
size="7794947" selected="undefined" state="undefined"/><patch type="partial" URL="http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/2006-03-26-10-mozilla1.8/
thunderbird-2.0a1.en-US.win32.partial.2006032608-2006032709.mar" hashFunction="MD5" hashValue="855135659f4dca37fa718d186cd55f70" size="172619" selected="true" state="pending" progress="100" status="169 of 169 KB at 128 KB/sec; 00:00 remain"/></update></updates>

my suggestion:
Before releasing future versions of thunderbird, the update-system should be made working absolutely fine !!!
This should have high priority to get updates in future without any problems....
A update-system is good, but it should be solid!
What if there is a big security leak in firefox, but users can't update because of the broken update-system?

The update worked fine for me on Windows for the 2.0a1 build to 03/27.

As far as issues with update system, that's why these are experimental nightly builds. I don't think it's crisis point. We're guinea pigs to try to find these problems in the nightly builds.

If the release channel for software update was having problems for an officially released product, then I'd be worried!

yay. 6 days of burning and it finally starts working again.

note: the 21st does not find an update to todays. however, partials take longer to get posted to the ftp server than the zip or exe builds do. it finished building 25 minutes ago or so, so it may just need time.

mscott, which information do you need to find out what happens while updating on my computer?
EDIT: Now, it downloaded the complete update, so I can't reproduce it anymore.

Which information do you need, if the behaviour happens again?
