Automatically enter password

Hi,
I am using a proxy that requires authentication .. the thing is WHENEVER i open a website , firefox prompts me to enter the password 2 -3 times ... the password is saved but i still have to press return everytime . Iss there anything i can do to ake firefox enter the password without asking?

If that doesn't work try: about:config -> network.negotiate-auth.allow-proxies -> false

I am facing the same problem .Not able to understand the above solution,Can some one help.what should i do to avoid being asked for the paswword everytime.Thanks!

Doesnt work for me. Always the same problem. I have to type username and password for each tab behind the proxy...

type about:config in the address bar
then in the page that is displayed search for network.negotiate-auth.allow-proxies and then right click and select the value to false. Very simple

Thanks for the reply but after 14 months, I doubt whether anyone is still monitoring this thread.
