I backed up my entire profile (just in case). Worked perfectly, quickly and quite logically. Here's how it went...

Thanks Unclebinder, nice to know that its working now. I see a bug with it not showing how much space is required; just says 0.0kb

I believe that's the only "problem" (I'm no dev, so I could be wrong * Ubuntu Desktop Computing Made Easy (Karmic 9.10) * My Firefox Add-Ons Collection: Eclectic Essentials * My SeaMonkey Add-Ons Collection: SeaMonkey Essentials

shortcuts are not created if you choose Standars/Complete install.

@ pal-moz
Yup. Just completed another install. This time on my wifes' computer (Win XP, SP2). Using "complete" installation, no shortcuts created. * Ubuntu Desktop Computing Made Easy (Karmic 9.10) * My Firefox Add-Ons Collection: Eclectic Essentials * My SeaMonkey Add-Ons Collection: SeaMonkey Essentials

Space Required is also 0.0kb for 'Components'. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060524 Minefield/3.0a1,Firefox ID:2006052404 [cairo] Plus as an aside: I'm still seeing c++ runtime errors using Installer on Minefield

Updated the summary, thanks

Looks pretty much the same as the old one, apart from using the NSIS is reutilising open source code, am I correct? Does this also mean that the installer is cross-platform?

I was having issues using the nsis installer on Minefield. I would encounter a c++ runtime error and stall.
I was later able to get it to install, but I think I now no why I was crashing before. When the runtime error box came up, I was trying to click 'OK' , the box would eventually go not-responding. I tried clicking the 'X' in the upper right corner same. I got past the runtime error box by using: right-click in the 'taskbar' -> close, then the install completed. So I'm suspecting now there is something about the OK and the normal windows buttons at the top perhaps. Food for thought maybe? I'm off to work, so don't have time to test further. Littlemutt: that was fixed recently with some other checkins for the installer
May 24th, 2006, 10:25 am
Littlemutt - that error is caused by #338807[Core]-Unable to DLLRegisterServer AccessibleMarshal.dll on trunk builds (C Runtime library error) [Win]
As stated in the previous nightly thread a regression window would help arronlev with fixing this. Also, dismissing the dialog WFM and from there the install succeeds. I suspect this is OS specific and I'm curious which version of Windows you are using? Dead_1nside - doubtful this would ever happen.

@Robert S.
WinXP Pro SP2, which I keep up to date with all patches. @Supernova, Yes I know there were recent updates to the Installer, and if you look you will see I'm using today's build, so there is still issues. Maybe system specific, if so, this is going to get tuff I'm afraid. I have been wiping out c:\program files\minefield, but using my old Profile, should that also be nuked ? I really don't see why it should matter however. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060524 Minefield/3.0a1,Firefox ID:2006052404 [cairo]

Another icon issue that is related to above:
In order to parity the current installer, if the icon currently exists on the desktop, it needs to be replaced instead of duplicated.
