I just downloaded this build last night, I'm assuming it's a .8 build (thats the folder i got it from) but the about box doesn't represent that.

Anyway, I never post here, cuz generally I don't have any issues with Firebird at all.. but, I Just wanted to say.....

THIS BUILD IS FLIPPIN' FAST! After installing it last night, I saw webpages render faster than I've ever seen in any browser on Windows, EVER. I just felt the need to come in here and applaud loudly to the developers! It's quite exciting to be using a product that's built and supported by a community such as this, and watch it grow and mature way past any of the other competing products.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

<sarcasm>Oo, I heard that IE was going to get pop-up blocking when XP SP2 comes out! OOOoooooo. </sarcasm>

Might have to try that one... not that the 0.7 milestone is slow or anything.

Pity that I can't say the same. Seems very similar to the .7 release for me. I hope it's only my computer that sucks :)

Just installed the same as huggy and Holy Crap he(or she, whichever is the case) is right. This browser is starting to kick all of the other browsers butts. I said I couldn't imagine it getting better after the .7 mark but I was wrong. Thank you very much.

I've been updating my nightlies every few nights since not long after 0.7, in both Linux and Windows. I've found, though a couple buggy, it's generally been getting faster and faster, likely thanks to the code-cleaning up they've been doing :D

Nice work Firebird team :)

Must admit this build does seem much faster then my last build which was a mid november iirc. FB's startup times, and page rendering speeds have been noticebly faster, and it was very fast before :)

I also have this build (and the latest TBE which is working fine) and I must agree, it's so fast it almost takes me by suprise sometimes!

Excellent!

Awww, I envy you all! I can't download anything until the end of the week due to having very little of the cap left! *waves angry fist*
I'm looking forward to it. Mind you, using the 2.6 kernel now has certainly improved the loading times for Firebird (And, well, everything else too...)

Indeed - the 2.6 kernel is quite wonderful on my laptop ;)

As for this oh-so-fast 20040104 build, I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to download it.
