Gmail not loading in trunk builds

Post by cygnus8595 »

I checked the latest bugs to make sure this isn't in there (I didn't see it), but whenever I go to Gmail using a trunk build it doesn't load properly. It acts like it's loading, but all I get is a blank screen. I've used the regular Camino nightly builds and the optimized versions and they both do the same thing. When I switch back to a branch build, it loads in just fine.

I'm thinking this might be a Gecko bug. I hope this isn't something that's been addressed before.

Thanks for the help. If I were a better coder, I'd help myself.

Make sure you're not spoofing your user agent string.

Confirming in my Intel build from Sept. 25.

EDIT: Not sure if this is related, but I'm seeing a weird layout bug in the Comcast help forums too. I'll post a couple screenshots when I get some time.

First one is current Camino nightly, second is same page in OmniWeb. If this is unrelated, we can split this topic.

Bug 354202 filed.

EDIT: This is a dupe of Bug 354144, for which a fix was checked in about 4 hours ago. I'm gonna do a build now and check it out.

Finished building with the patch for bug 354144 included. Problem fixed. Thanks Bz.

And all the other problems with absolute positioning are fixed as well.

Confirmed fixed. My layout bug in the Comcast forums mentioned above is resolved as well. Uploading a fixed build as I type this.

phiw13 - I need to type faster ;-)

Wow, that was fast. I just pointed CaminoKnight back to the optimized trunk build, loaded up Gmail and everything's peachy.

I really hope the upcoming versions of Firefox for Mac don't kill Camino. I think it's the best browser available for Mac, including Safari. In fact, I think Mozilla should use Camino as their Mac product and forget Firefox for Mac.

Anyway, thanks again. Once I feel more comfortable with my coding skills, I'm going to join this project.
