Some messengercompose.xul borders are black in Linux, maybe due to one of the patches for <a href="https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345887" title="Thunderbird Theme Update for Qute">bug 345887</a>

With FF2 out (or at least it appears to be when i wrote this) does this mean we'll be seeing Thunderbird 2 betas shortly?
If it isn't broken... break it...

I'm seeing two quirks with the nightlies on win2k and xp:
1 - VCards are showing up as attachments (paperclip in list pane, and .vcf in attachment box rather than the cute little index card at the bottom of the message). <a href="https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323414">Bug 323414</a> sounds related, but the bug author seems to think it's okay for the vcards to be attachements sometimes... To me, that's a serious change in TBird's behavior. In particular, it makes sorting a folder by attachment status pretty useless.
2 - Dragging contacts into mailing lists does not work. (Circle-with-a-line-through-it mouse cursor appears). Contacts can still be dragged from one address book to the "root" of another, but the only way to add names into a mailing list is to start typing them. This looks like <a href="https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=282841">bug 282841</a>, but the workaround suggested there doesn't work for me either.
These are serious annoyances I never saw with 1.5.x. Can anyone confirm or deny?

what nightly build are you using that you see these regressions? 2.0 or trunk?

I've seen this on the 2.0 builds since I started using them a few weeks ago; I'm currently on "version 2 beta 1 (20061023)" aka 1.8.20061.2303. I haven't tried it on the trunk -- I certainly can though.

I am seeing the same problem on the nightly trunk build
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061023 Thunderbird/3.0a1 ID:2006102306
Also, there seems to be no way to remove a name from a list. Delete doesn't work and there is no context menu available on an item listed in a list.

I've been having trouble getting a filter to work properly. I have set it up on a gmail account. What I want the filter to do is download the mail (I have server settings set to fetch headers only) if the mail is from a certain person. I get the indicator that the message has arrived, and the filter log shows that the filter has been run and applied to the right message, but the message never shows up in neither the inbox nor any of my other folders. The message is still on the server, though.
Here's the filter log:
Applied filter "Dowload Mail" to message from [address removed] - Download this at 10/23/2006 11:18:44 PM body fetched from POP3 server
The filter says the body was fetched, but where it puts it is beyond me. I've searched bugzilla and found this bug:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356797
which is marked as unconfirmed. I guess I am confirming it...
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061021 Thunderbird/2.0b1pre ID:2006102104

With version 2 beta 1 (20061023) under XP Pro SP2 any message filters that test the subject work, but any that depend upon custom headers don't. I'm using IMAP accounts. The filter log (both the window and the html file) doesn't log anything.
The latest nightly build assigned a non-existent "Important forum" tag with the color for the forum tag, instead of the "forum" custom tag. That message filter had worked correctly the last couple of nightly builds but broke in 20061023.
enabled="yes"
type="1"
action="AddTag"
actionValue="forum"
condition="OR (subject,contains,topic reply notification)"
Prefs.js has (I had deleted any predefined tags that I don't use):
user_pref("mailnews.tags.$label1.color", "#FF0000");
user_pref("mailnews.tags.$label1.tag", "Important");
user_pref("mailnews.tags.$label4.color", "#3333FF");
user_pref("mailnews.tags.$label4.tag", "To Do");
user_pref("mailnews.tags.forum.color", "#009900");
user_pref("mailnews.tags.forum.tag", "Forum");
user_pref("mailnews.tags.test.color", "#FFFF66");
user_pref("mailnews.tags.test.tag", "Test");
user_pref("mailnews.tags.version", 2);

Is 1025 trunk nightly build out? I'm still stuck in 102404, update cannot be found.

It seems that since two days my spam filter isn't working very good any more. Can someone confirm?

version 3 alpha 1 (20061021)
Created a separate fresh profile for trunk builds Vs. branch. (finally)
When building helper app prefs via "open with"/"do this automatically" it seems impossible to add
a helper app for the mp3 file extension.
does not allow the mime type to be added. Wavs, midi etc seem to display the proper option.
I finally just copied my branch mimeTypes.rdf file to the trunk profile and all is well.
But this would be a real problem for the average user that wants to listen to an mp3 encoded
"voice mail" as an example, from "Uncle Ray" or other legitimate mp3 content.
My point is that mp3 files are not intrinsically evil or illegal, and should not be treated as such.
See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.c ... =346332#c7
Which may or may not be pertinent to that bug.

What's the best way to keep nightly builds updated? Besides checking the FTP manually every day, I mean. Also, why does the User Agent string say 1.5 when the About screen says 2.0 beta 1?
