As yek has upgraded his Linux box past us mere mortals and is no longer producing nightlies, I've decided to try to pick up the slack. Linked builds are optimised for Athlon XP with SSE, use GTK2 and XFT, and have the JS debugger and SVG rendering through libart enabled. The build environment is a Fedora Core 1 box, with kernel 2.6.1-mm2, glibc 2.3.2, gcc 3.3.2, GTK 2.2.4, and XFree86 4.3.0-42.

SVG text support requires Freetype installed and configured. Full instructions on how to do this are at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/fonts/u ... etype.html, specifically, you'll need to follow steps 2-6 to get SVG text going.

<b>Notes for February 17</b>: Nothing, really. I could complain about the weather, but that's hardly Fx-related. :)

I'll try to get a build out each weekday, if I have time, and will update this topic accordingly. Good luck.

It is running very well for me in Mandrake 10 beta 2. Thanks for picking up the slack.

Builds for February 6 are up. Hopefully the automatic script will start doing its thing next week and save me some work. :)

Just wanted you to know that I really appreciate you building this each night. Exactly what the doctor ordered!

My pleasure. If my build scripts will start co-operating sometime this afternoon, I should have an i686 build out in the next few hours.

Could you please post your .mozconfig file? I'm curious which options you are using. Thanks in advance.

Sure thing. My .mozconfig is pretty simple:

Code: Select all
. $topsrcdir/browser/config/mozconfig
ac_add_options --disable-tests
ac_add_options --disable-debug
ac_add_options --enable-optimize="-O3 -march=athlon-xp -msse"
ac_add_options --enable-jsd
ac_add_options --enable-xft
ac_add_options --enable-default-toolkit=gtk2
ac_add_options --enable-svg
ac_add_options --enable-svg-renderer-libart
mk_add_options MOZ_INTERNAL_LIBART_LGPL=1
MOZ_INTERNAL_LIBART_LGPL=1

The i686 .mozconfig is exactly the same, except for the --enable-optimize line, which reads:

Code: Select all
ac_add_options --enable-optimize="-O3 -march=i686 -mcpu=i686"

"The requested URL /firefox/FX-13Feb04-AthXP-SSE-SVG-GTK2-XFT-JSD.tar.bz2 was not found on this server."
i'm getting 404.. even only using /firefox for directory listing..
is there any other place i can download it? your previus build for Athlon XP is unbeliveable fast here, rendering and startup..

edit: just tested at scragz test page.. i got 3.02 secs average
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9b4pre) Gecko/2008021104 Firefox/3.0b4pre ID:2008021104

Thanks <b>MatlhDam</b>. What does the following code do:
Code: Select all
ac_add_options --enable-svg-renderer-libart
mk_add_options MOZ_INTERNAL_LIBART_LGPL=1
MOZ_INTERNAL_LIBART_LGPL=1

I didn't see <i>MOZ_INTERNAL_LIBART_LGPL</i> in the <i>./configure --help</i> output.
