Could not get the JVM manager

Post by eldacar »

OS: Linux (Mandrake 9.2)

Lately when I try to open certain received emails (most often with attachments) TB just quits on me with this showing up in the console:

"INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not get the JVM manager
System error?:: Success"

I have tried different late versions of TB but they all show the same behaviour on my Linux box. On windows I have no such problems.

Help please

I think I have a fix for this. But I need someone that sees it to try something. You don't need to be a developer to test this out.

Try deleting:

components/libgkplugin.so
components/plugin.xpt

from your installation of thunderbird

Does the problem go away?

If so we'll try to respin 0.5 to fix this.

P.S. See Bug #223600 for more details.
