Once again, autofox is resurrected.
The focus of autofox is primarily to provide a regular supply of Linux/x86_64 builds of Mozilla products (both trunk and current [1.8] branch). Currently Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and Sunbird are built. 32 bit builds are also being added to give the machine something to do, but are not a primary concern. Both gcc3 and gcc4 builds are compiled - this is to ensure that builds are available for as wide of a variety of Linux systems as reasonably possible. The build schedule for this machine is as follows: (All times are Sydney time, currently GMT+10) Build schedule is currently unavailable/under review. Watch this space. Missing Builds The build script checks the tinderbox status before building, and the script should abort if the tree is red. In this instance no builds will be compiled or uploaded. The other main reason for builds missing is an ADSL outage. This thread will NOT be updated when new builds are uploaded. As the system is completely automated, I have no intention of monitoring it (as long as it is working), and will not be posting here as a result. Thread Updates I will post to the thread when any of the following happen: * New builds are added to the scripts * Builds are dropped from the scripts * Release builds are uploaded * Build scripts are changed in any manner that impacts on the build times or frequencies * Autofox outages * Anyone asks me questions Releases Currently only release builds of SeaMonkey are guaranteed to produced (gcc3, 64 bit). These builds are contributed to the <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/">SeaMonkey project</a>. Other release builds will be produced on request or whim. Release builds of Firefox/Thunderbird/Sunbird will not be built with --enable-official-branding unless they are for contribution to the projects in question and this has been approved beforehand. Questions? Comments? Requests? <a href="http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/before-you-mail-hendikins.html">Bug me about it here</a>. Thanks for your wonderful builds

32 bit builds
32 bit builds are in the process of being added because the build machine still spends >12 hours/day idle. The first 32 bit builds to be added are gcc4 trunk builds. Suiterunner <a href="http://wiki.mozilla.org/SeaMonkey:suiterunner">Suiterunner</a> is an internal code-name for the future version of SeaMonkey based on toolkit. At this stage it should really be considered experimental and treated as such. These builds are provided primarily for curiousity value. New Builds Suiterunner (gcc4, 64 bit) Suiterunner (gcc3, 64 bit) SeaMonkey Trunk (gcc4, 32 bit) Suiterunner (gcc4, 32 bit) Firefox Trunk (gcc4, 32 bit) Michael Hendy | Hendikins - The Lurking Wolfox

ADSL Upgrade
The upstream speed of the ADSL connection used for autofox has been upgraded from 128k to 256k. Builds will be uploaded slightly more quickly from now on. Michael Hendy | Hendikins - The Lurking Wolfox

Time Changes
Build times have been adjusted to take in to account quicker upload times (the script uploads before moving on to the next build, as using ccache can result in builds being finished before the previous one has finished uploading). New Builds SeaMonkey Trunk (gcc3, 32 bit) Suiterunner (gcc3, 32 bit) Firefox Trunk (gcc3, 32 bit) Dropped Builds All non-cairo trunk builds (no longer supported, <a href="https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=177805">bug 177805</a>) Michael Hendy | Hendikins - The Lurking Wolfox

Thanks for continuing to provide some 32 bit builds. A few days ago I upgraded to SuSE 10.2 and also just got a 6 Mbit DSL connection so I'm loaded for bear on my ever-humming-along P2. :D

Whoops!
After recovering from the disaster that is the new Billion 7400 series firmware, the ADSL service should be working reliably again, and autofox with it (this isn't related to the speed upgrade). Thoughts I'm still left with a lot of idle CPU time and upstream bandwidth. What else should I build? Thunderbird? Suggestions to this thread. Michael Hendy | Hendikins - The Lurking Wolfox

Cross compile some of the above for PowerPC?
Seamonkey/Suiterunner in particular as it will be a long time before builds are available and early testing is good.

Linux/PPC, I presume?
If so, it will have to either be (or be compatible with) OpenSUSE 10.2. Otherwise the work required will more than likely exceed reasonable levels. I'll have to see just how much of a pain in the neck it would be. That, and I can't test any of the builds. Suggestion noted. Michael Hendy | Hendikins - The Lurking Wolfox

New Builds
SeaMonkey 1.8 Branch (gcc3, 32 bit) Firefox 1.8 Branch (gcc3, 32 bit) SeaMonkey 1.8 Branch (gcc4, 32 bit) Firefox 1.8 Branch (gcc4, 32 bit) Script changes Now that the upstream on the ADSL is fast enough, I'll be modifying autofox so that it no longer waits for the previous build to upload before starting the next one. This will result in builds appearing sooner than they currently do. Michael Hendy | Hendikins - The Lurking Wolfox

are they compatible with dsl? (the os not the internet)
February 18th, 2007, 5:45 pm
They should work on any distribution with library versions equal to or newer than what the build system has. Edit: It appears that DSL doesn't have GTK2, so absolutely no chance. Michael Hendy | Hendikins - The Lurking Wolfox

New Builds
Thunderbird Trunk (gcc3, 32 bit) Thunderbird 1.8 Branch (gcc3, 32 bit) Thunderbird Trunk (gcc4, 32 bit) Thunderbird 1.8 Branch (gcc4, 32 bit) Thunderbird 1.8 Branch (gcc3, 64 bit) Thunderbird Trunk (gcc4, 64 bit) Thunderbird 1.8 Branch (gcc4, 64 bit) All of the above will be produced starting from the 2007021918 build cycle. Script Changes Due to low CPU utilisation on the autofox box, all build runs from 2007022000 onwards will use -j4. Michael Hendy | Hendikins - The Lurking Wolfox
