I think we are loosing way too much screen real estate in general, but specifically with the new
attachment window. Here is what I'm seeing in current branch and trunk on a typical newsgroup
post : http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/1427 ... iewny5.gif
Here is the same post in Seamonkey with toolbars collapsed:
http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/8014 ... ullkp3.gif
Quite a difference. I think we need Fullscreen viewing capability, collapsable toolbars
or at least in an extension for a bigger message pane.

this is getting ridicules. Thunderbird's message filter still isn't able to delete mails from pop server. This bug has been around since the 1.x release. Please fix it or remove "Delete from pop server" from the message filter action list. Even good old outlook express was able to do that. thank you.

Agree. At the very least please restore the smaller icons to the left of the file name. ton85 wrote:Thunderbird's message filter still isn't able to delete mails from pop server.
Agree here, too. We need this to function properly.

Looks like bug 358684 landed on trunk only. Does another bug need to be opened for 2.0pre or is it too late?

It's too late, because it introduces a new string.

Tested on 2 different computers:
The display is correct with Trunk 20070206 (Windows Installer) but is incorrect (one pixel lost at the beginning of underlined text) starting with Trunk 20070209 (no Windows Trunks between 6 and 9 Feb)
Still present in version 3 alpha 1 (20070225)
Please verify.

Sorry, I did not look close enough in your first post.
Yes the problem is there in headers only, and only in some parts of the header.
Let's give it some exposure in an enlarged view:

EDIT: This seems to be a result of a major API change that is being tested on the trunk.
While it's impact is relatively minor, probably some chrome changes to avoid this could be made.

Quite often now I find one of my POP inboxes with an incorrect unread count. When I select the box the count corrects itself. Also I sometimes find the deleted/trash folder has an unread count. When I click on it the count disappears as there is nothing unread in that folder. I have some filters which automatically delete messages, but they always mark the message as read first before moving them to trash. It may be interference between the filters and auto-compaction of the folders.

So, I guess some work is being done on the attachment pane, and in the process:
mailnews.attachments.display.largeView was set to true by default.
Setting it to false returns you to the small icon format.

I bet it'll be marked a dupe of: Bug 368068 – Left pixels (edge) missing in header address fields (cut off)
