Hi there,

after fiddling with some bugs in the printing dialogs of Sunbird, I created my own enhancements of the original js files, which can be downloaded from http://www.grassmann.info/fgPrinters.xpi.

In this, I fixed some bugs in the original printing code (especially category colors not being printed and the next month being unnecessarily printed in the month grid), and also made the output configurable (especially regarding font sizes and background colours for weekend days, days in other months and the headlines).

I would really appreciate any input from you regarding this extension.

Yours,

fgrassmann

After fixing some bugs (mainly regarding the calculation of the end date), I released v 0.0.5, which you can download from http://www.grassmann.info/fgPrinters.xpi.

There are some new features as well. Now you can adjust the printer settings in a way that will produce the same results as the original printing dialog. Plus now there is localization support.

Have fun with the tool,

fgrassmann

"The requested URL /fgPrinters.xpi. was not found on this server."

I'd really like to try it, though.

Try removing the trailing '.' from the url.

Sorry for the dots - I screwed this one up in another forum, too. :-/

In the meantime, I did some more developing and uploaded version 0.0.6 to my homepage: http://www.grassmann.info/fgPrinters.xpi

Now you can also print descriptions you entered to the events, and do some more configuration. Plus the config dialog has been changed to group the settings... Hope this improves user-friendlyness.

Hi there,

I fixed another bug in the printing output concerning the calculation of the start date (which was sometimes wrong on systems not using Sunday as start of week). Version 0.0.7 can be downloaded from: http://www.grassmann.info/fgPrinters.xpi

fgrassmann:

Does your extension remove the "All Day" before all day events when printing the monthly calendar?

Well, it does if you configure it to. You can select if you want to print "All Day" or not.

Hi there,

I just wanted to let you know that I updated my printing extension. You can download the new version 0.1.7 from: http://www.grassmann.info/fgPrinters.xpi

I added a printing option resembling the look of the Sunbird user interface (and called it "Time Sheet"). I hope you enjoy this extension and am looking forward to any (nice ;-) ) comments.

Note: If you are using a Sunbird version prior to the recent 0.7pre builds, you have to check the "old version" box in the settings dialog of this extension, or your Sunbird will most probably crash (as it will if you check this box and do use a recent version).

Yours,

fgrassmann

It's nice to hear that you like it, Mike. :-)

I just uploaded v0.1.9, which should automagically detect the version of Sunbird and act accordingly, so there is no need to tell the extension about "old versions".

Have fun,

Hi there,

I just uploaded v0.2.0, and that switch I mentioned before is back again. The reason: I found no way to reliantly query the version of the Lightning Extension for Thunderbird installed. Wouldn't it be nice if Sunbird and Lightning would add a new preference like calender.version which allowed the extension developers to query the version of calender? ;-)

Ciao,

fgrassmann
