I got a problem sending mails with certificates.

Trying to digitally sending a mail results in an error saying that there is not valid certificate, which is not the case. I will open a bug for that.

Hello this Screen shot is from the 3.0a versions, it also happened in the 2.0.0.0 to the 3.0a verasion, the 1.5 to the Pre builds of 1.5 never did this. I finally was able to screen capture this so it could be seen.

Description, open Thunderbird and then as it opens the Screen Stretches all the way down to the bottom as you see, then it goes to normal, with the 3 panel sceens. This I had reported before but this is the first time I have been able to screen capture it and then show it.

This problem has been here for over one full year and nothing has been done about it. Guess nothing will ever be done about it. Come on, the Best and Safest E-Mail program is going south?? What's up with this?

I get an error when trying to send a file with an attachment ( a small excel spreadsheet).

after some stuffing around I sent a test email - no attachment - all else the same successfully. The problem appears to any attachment - I have just tried a png attachment the error is:

"Sending of message failed.
Please verify that your Mail & Newsgroups account settings are correct and try again."

Is there some security setting I should flick? I had a look and couldn't see one. Mail is being received both generally and from newsgroups.

Since nobody responded, maybe nobody has seen this problem. I have not seen this.
It's possible that it's a problem unique to your setup.
Did you :
Try a new profile.
Start in safe mode.
Post your issue to a support forum

After installing the automatic update downloaded on 5/1/2007 (the file properties show: File version: 1.8.1.4pre: 2007050103, Product Version: 2.0.0.4pre), on startup I get an error dialog:

The procedure entry point GetLongPathNameA could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.


This is likely due to the system being Windows NT 4.0 sp6.

(I guess I'll roll back to the previous nightly and suspend updates until this gets fixed.)

In other matters, the dialog that appears on startup after installing an update appears to have a typo. It ends with a phrase like "Thunderbird will start in a few." I presume there should be some units after that, like "minutes." Perhaps it is in the text string, but has wrapped to the next line, which isn't visible.

And, after installing an automatic update, the restart process will hand about 50% of the time, requiring manual killing and restarting of the thunderbird.exe process.

(I'll file tickets for each of these 3 items in a few days if I don't see any comments about these being known issues.)

I've also been having that problem over the last several trunk builds.
I started with a new profile today using the May 1st trunk. No luck.
So far, the May 2nd 2007 trunk seems to send correctly now.
I sent a small .jpg along with a small 256KB .mov file
