pryan is graciously hosting some of my builds at:

Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 3

See http://www.vector64.com/ for Win64, Win32 SSE2 and Max/OSX G5 builds.

The Windows executable files are 7-Zip SFX Self-Extracting Executables. The extract will go to the Firefox Community Edition directory tree where you place it.

The Mac/OSX build is your standard dmg kit.

Many thanks to Makoto Kato for porting Mozilla to Windows XP 64-Bit Edition and showing me how to build it.

This is the fastest build I've tested yet using Scragz's rendering test.

On the downside jpeg breaking is present. :(

I didn't know that O2 includes Ob2 so I'll leave it out in the future.

> So what was this built with?

The switches imply MSVC++ 2003 but I updated the original post to be clear.

> On the downside jpeg breaking is present.

I don't have a problem with jpegs on my system and I haven't put in the patch yet (I had some errands to run so I started the build and then came back later last night) but will look at doing it for tonight).

Hmm now do I use this or Scragz Firebird O2 build?

Post by cdx47 »

In terms of performance they are pretty similar. Something within me wants to use Firefox but I might miss out on some features though I cant think what they are. Any help here?

Oh and BTW the JPEG issue is def. present in this build though not in Scragz O2 SSE2 Firebird build.
Also my Sig is now technically wrong........no long using Scragz..............for now :)

I think you should use the patch for it regardless, as almost everyone else with a P4 machine is experiencing jpeg breaks with -O2 builds.

Patch is in and build is running. I expect it to take a few hours to run as I'm doing other work on the machine this afternoon.

The tarball build failed on

make[3]: Leaving directory `/cygdrive/c/mozilla/mozilla/xpfe/components/xremote/
public'
make[3]: Entering directory `/cygdrive/c/mozilla/mozilla/chrome'
make[3]: *** No rule to make target `export'. Stop.

It appears that I can't build from the tarball with this problem so I'll have to pull it from CVS tonight and build. Build should be done sometime around 1:00 AM if I get it started by 10:00 PM. This is Eastern Standard Time.
