Is anyone NOT affected by the blank-compose-window bug? It crashes instantly for me when I try to compose, but it seems to be the same bug anyway because I have it automatically Bcc me.

Personally could care less what others think of me, so much is spent on figuring out me, when in reality the idea is to fix what is broken ie: Thunderbird 2.0.0.4Pre and any version of Thunderbird 2.x, The screen Opens The 3 panes open into one large pane and one small, both extending to the bottom of the program, showing no Message pane. Only Header pane and Folders pane. Then setting back to normal. Ever since 2.x has been out, it has done this without fail. Does not crash, it just is disturbing to have it do this to the display. I am an old lady, I help others, if helping others is inappropriate to every one here, then my goodness!! this is a pure Oxy Moron. Help with no help. Please Fix this, its bothersome and irritating.

version 2.0.0.4pre (20070521)

System:
AMD AM2 64 X 2 5200+
nVidia GeForce 7300GS 512MB DDR2
2 GB PC 4200
Dell M992 Display
Win XP Pro SP2 and Much SP3

Please!!! Fix the Display issue!!

I'd love to help you BenneJezzerette, but I haven't been able to reproduce this problem yet. I don't see any open bugs in bugzilla about it either so most of our users aren't running into it. We need to figure out what's unique about your setup so we can figure out what's going on.

What 3-pane layout do you use?

That condition lasts for less than a second for me.
Is that your complaint ? Or are you seeing something more serious.

Re:Thunderbird 2X and after. Yes its a bother and has been ever since I started using it over a year ago.

Ok here goes, hope this helps a lot.

Most info on system is there. The Driver is a tweaksrus driver for the card as the nVidia ones crash most of the time.

the main board is an MSI with the nForce 550 MCP Chipset.

lets see

The latest trunk now: version 3.0a1pre (20070521)
is really broken for some days now yes.

I can't compose a new mail or forward a mail.
Only replying is still going ok. (but i cant see where i reply to because the address area is a complete blank area)
It seems that for every action where i really need to type a email address it thunderbird will crash.

OK, I've just downloaded latest trunk (20070522). And it isn't crash when I click "write" button. It opens window where I can compose new msg, but email address field isn't long enough (see link below).

With today's trunk build message filter do not run any longer automatically. Filters have to started manually (Run filters on folder)
Filed: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381595 – Message filters do not run automatically
