The Above still happens and the bug is filed, will continue to post this because it is very irritating to watch the screen slide down then slide back to normal in any configuration of the Panes positions.

Please note, has done all 3 Views and always does the same thing.
Also on the picture you see this View, one note its a very poor View, unless you have a 16:9 screen.

*) Have you've tried a completely fresh install with a clean profile (i.e. backup, uninstall, delete existing profile, delete existing email folders, install from .exe)?
*) Is there anything in the error console?
*) Is the window (a) maximised or (b) restored?

Anyone, does Console2 run under Tb?

Yes it was a 3.0a1Pre fresh install then found this crazy alignment. Went to a 2.0.0.0 then 2.0.0.3 and so on this time, but please note, that this issue, I had noted over 1 year ago, as I was not well versed in bug reporting, and still a little shaky. From 2.x Alpha on it has been this way. *) Is there anything in the error console?
Has no errors in any console. Just a Screen that is like a Rubberband that Flings back into place. *) Is the window (a) maximised or (b) restored? (Please add those to the bug report.)
Window or program is Max and then minimized, then stretched to normal size. Opening maximized tells me its opening in a 640x480 Window when I run 1280x1024 on a Dell M992 19" CRT 75Hz refresh with the nVidia Drivers, 160.02 from http://www.tweaksrus.com as its a tweaked driver for gaming, and since Second Life is a Game of sorts, a SIMulator then Its best, and the problem has not been recent. 2.x Alpha and on has been this way Anyone, does Console2 run under Tb?
I have only the Nightly testers installed. No other extensions, and the default Theme. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4pre) Gecko/20070524 Thunderbird/2.0.0.4pre ID:2007052403
Recurring issue not new.
EDIT # 1 Update!
Ok Clean and I mean Clean install of the 5/22/2007 build, Removed all, ALL folders and backed all the files to another hdd. Thank god for 3 hard drives. CLEAN! Install! and now it just goes a lot faster down the Screen before snapping back to normal.
Even Cleaned out the Registry! and it STILL yes STILL does what I have been saying for the past week and a year ago with little and or no real fixers, too many obsessed with my life and me to be bothered with Fixing something that is broken and has been for over a year!

When you say "tells me it's opening in a 640x480 window", what tells you?
Have you tried reverting to the manufacturer's standard, latest driver for your display card? (I doubt it'll help!)
What's SP 3? Microsoft haven't released any such thing, as far as I know. I'm almost tempted to say do a clean OS install, as well.

I've filed Bug 382193, which is already fixed. The new nightly is available on both ftp and application update.

No you seem to misunderstand. It opens Full screen, but when Setting to normal it reverts to a 640x480. As for Drivers, well it happened on my older system way before I had this new system, 2.x Alpha Build!! <<<<< READ me please!! Alpha Build. I have done clean installs of this system, my previous system with the same results. 1.5 builds are fine, 2.x 3.x are Visually impared in a sense.
A small side note, being an older lady, with 30 some years of Computer Tech work behind me, I consider myself effective in understanding the way systems work. I fix what people break. Not software, but hardware, yes I know a clean install of everything would be right for some, but knowing what I know it has nothing to do with that.
On SP 3 well it seems that many do updates, but has no idea what those updates are, for a nice utility to Tell you about what you have and any updates, go here http://www.belarc.com and get the Belarc Advisor and install it, it opens a Report of your system in your default browser. I use this tool for Phone support for when someone just can not tell me what they have in their system and or installed. I attached a 3.0a Screen shot to my report, its not limited to the 3.0a builds but all the way back to 2.x builds from a year ago.
Please understand me, I have mentioned this over a year ago, yet for some reason with the fascination of my life, it seems to have been ignored totally. So now with the Screen shots, my descriptions and everything else, I am hopeful the Devs will fix this. Get that Advisor and then look at the Updates page, you will see SP 3 in it. There are several, so please do not tell me I have no clue as to what I have, I think more along the lines you just missed something, and all I am doing is pointing you in the right direction to see for yourself, and I would also suggest to everyone that reads this to get that Advisor too, then maybe things will be known more.
Drivers, lets see, from 84.x to 97.42 from nVidia's site this has been a problem, from the Tweaks site they are gamers, they rebuild the drivers for Hard core gaming. Meaning they Speed things up tremendously in how the response is.
Thanks for at least trying, but its not solving the issue, its telling me that someone just can not believe me for my word. So with all the tools I have set here and information, I hope to see that everyone gets on the same page.
And just because, here is a nice Screen shot, a Second Time, to prove my point.
And for the Sight and of course Reading Impared

Auto-update (partial) from 2007052803 to 2007052903 completed but Thunderbird faults on startup (no talkback dialog initiated on the fault). Reverted back to 2007052803. Anyone else see a problem with 2007052903?
Windows event log shows:
Faulting application thunderbird.exe, version 1.9.20070.52903, faulting module thunderbird.exe, version 1.9.20070.52903, fault address 0x006102e7.
