I have noticed that with the today's build the horizontal scrollbar on the folder pane (classic view, left one) has some unexpected behavior: when you shrink that pane it disappear and when you make the pane wider it appear. I was expecting just the inverse.

Using: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007080807 Thunderbird/3.0a1pre ID:2007080807

I see that too. I think I filed a bug but can't find it at the moment.

Hmmm
I am quite sure I have never seen a horizontal scrollbar in the folder pane.
I use the classic view and dragged it around. The folder names just shrink, no scrollbar.

# 375670 [Thunderbird] - Horizontal scrollbar in folder pane behaves incorrectly [Win]

But mine doesn't behave incorrectly, because it's not there.

You've to have
[ ] Show expanded columns in the folder pane
deactivated to see the effect. Once it's switched on you wouldn't see it.

JoeS: Shouldn't the versions at the beginning of the page under 'Latest Test Builds' be updated?
Especially on the branch I guess we'll already on:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.13pre) Gecko/20070809 Thunderbird/1.5.0.13pre ID:2007080906

I understand it now with the folder pane scrollbar
Thanks toscha42

As for the "latest test" builds, you missed a couple of letters.
They are "latest tested" builds that I have personally used, and am satified with.
I haven't done a lot with branch lately, hence the lag there.

Good to see you looking in here Ron,
That checkin was in last week's thread, I just left the bug in there in green in case someone sees the problem and hasn't updated recently.

Back and getting my feet wet again. Been doing some bug searches on words such as spellcheck.

There is a way old one by mScott on spellcheck running on the reply header and sig block. I cooked up a design that might side step a flaw in His patch that was withheld due to the flaw. See:

Since the redesigned extension manager has landed some days ago it does not display any longer any extensions installed. All the tabs of EM, e.g. Extensions, Themes, Plugins etc. are completely empty although extensions are installed of course.

Is there already a bug for this?

[Edit]
Filed: #391820 New: Redesigned extension manager does not show any installed extensions

I confirm the blank extension manager. Really didn't notice the checkin, maybe I missed it.
The extensions I have installed do operate normally.

EDIT: I can't find a checkin for the new EM by Scott or David in the last 30 days

Probably it's #339056 – provide mechanism to allow users to list, enable, disable plugins in primary UI

Looks like another case of the "firefox runaway train" stomping on Tbird.
Should be their responibility to fix it IMHO
On the other hand, given the possible futures of TB, maybe it's time for a "fork" in the code or a branch
like the "aviary" I know that was hard to finally land, but it would free up the devs from chasing after
code changes that break TB
I'll even go a bit further and say that performance in the Gecko core is about 10% worse than the branch.
That's just my 2 cents, and it pertains to some specialized stuff that I do like dhtml.
