This may be the wrong place for this question but you all seem to have a wealth of information.

I can't seem to play any streaming online radio stations at home if it pulls up Window Media Player in seperate window. It used to but since I downloaded WMP 11 I can't play it. I get this message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play any items in the playlist. To find information about the problem, click the Now Playing tab, and then click the icon next to each file in the List pane."

I am guessing i need to change the setting but what? I have window XP on my machine. I tried to look on Microsoft website but could not find any error with this message.

Appreciate the help.

New WMP plugin for Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2: Windows Vista and some versions of Windows XP do not include the standard WMP plugin. Microsoft's Technet division has developed a new Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin (file name "np-mswmp.dll") for Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2 systems. This new plugin can be installed to solve a missing plugin issue (see below) or to take advantage of its new features (e.g., scripting support) on systems that already include the standard WMP plugin. Instructions for installing the new WMP plugin in Firefox or another browser are given below.

Have you installed the new Firefox Plugin?

I don't know specifically if that will fix your problem, but IMHO it is worth a try.

.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine has wandered off and I'm out looking for it.

I did a groups.google search on your error and found this: http://msmvps.com/blogs/chrisl/pages/11219.aspx

...which links to:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -US;838101
You receive error 0xC00D10B3 when you try to play online content

... and

Internet Connectivity Questions
Q: WMP thinks I'm always offline (or returns error 0xc00d1126 or 0xC00D11B3).

Hope that helps.

I have already seen the 1st 2 links and tried it out without fixing the problem.

The last link however may be the solution since I do have ZoneAlarm. Will try it when I get home and get back. Thanks for the links.

You're welcome. Hope to hear back that you were able to fix the problem using the information in the last link*. Good luck.

Q: WMP thinks I'm always offline (or returns error 0xc00d1126 or 0xC00D11B3).
A: First, run the Internet Connection Wizard (Start:Run "icwconn1.exe") - especially if you have a cable or DSL connection.

If you're running a firewall, read this for configuration information. Also, some sites require cookies for the content to play, so disabling cookies may disable WMP's ability to play a file. Note that ZoneAlarm (Pro) will usually neatly disable WMP from working, so either give WMP permissions within Zone Alarm (per Dave Roth: set Zone Alarm to Medium security, or go into the Firewall settings page and hit the "Custom" settings button, enable the "Allow outgoing TCP ports" option, then specify "554, 1755" as the selected ports), or uninstall Zone Alarm if you want things to work. Norton Internet Security and other Internet firewall/security devices can also accidentally block WMP.

Alice- Thanks for the link. I have Zone Alarm and normally it does ask me permission for a certain program to access the internet. But it didn't. Anyway it was ZoneAlarm blocking the rights to play. Got it fixed. Thanks a bunch for your help.
