Current "Gotchas" for Trunk Testers

Since 2007-08-13 You will need to "select" an app to call a link.
This is stored in mimeTypes.rdf but is not editable in the TB UI
Workaround: Don't save the selection, or backup your mimetypes.rdf.

# 410485 Solutions to get software update going again
Since 2008-01-01 Software update will not work for Thunderbird.
A bug to the Updater.exe was introduced on 2007-12-31 and appeared in builds after that date.
Although the bug is fixed, a partial, or full update using the faulty updater.exe will not fix this.
To get your nightly back in sync, you must manually download a full build and overlay your existing build.
You could dowload an hourly or wait until the next nightly starting on 2008-01-03

I don't know if I should report this in a new topic:

With today's build:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12pre) Gecko/20080114 Thunderbird/2.0.0.12pre Mnenhy/0.7.5.0 ID:2008011503

thunderbird crashes whenever a compose window is closed, i.e., either when "Send" is pressed, or the window is manually closed.

At first, I thought it was related to sending, but I can confirm that both sending, and writing of the sent message in the Sent folder are successful in all pop, imap or news accounts. It's precisely when the compose window needs to close that Tb crashes.

I tried safe mode; the problem is there as well. And it occurs in each of my three Windows machines.

I hope this is resolved by tomorrow.

I wasn't seeing any problems with the build you mentioned but I am seeing those issues in today's ( 16th ) build.................

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12pre) Gecko/20080116 Thunderbird/2.0.0.12pre ID:2008011604

Contrary to most of the discussion in the forum, we're talking about the "Branch" here. It'll be interesting to see if it gets any attention.

Anyway, I'm having the exact same problem, and I also think it began on the 15th.

By the way, it's always good to mention which extensions you're using. Sometimes that can help the devs see some type of context.

If worse comes to worse, someone might have to file a bug report. Having said that, maybe starting a separate thread would be a step in the right direction.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12pre) Gecko/20080116 Thunderbird/2.0.0.12pre ID:2008011604

Extensions
abcTajpu 1.6.0
addressContext 0.8.1
BiDi Mail UI 0.8 [DISABLED]
Clippings 2.6
ConfigDate 0.4.2
Contacts Add BCC button 0.0.3
Deutsches Wörterbuch 1.0.1
Empty Trash 1.3.12
FlatStyle for Thunderbird 0.9.2.3
HiddenPrefs 0.2.2
MoreColsForAddressBook 0.2.6
MR Tech Local Install 5.3.2.6
Nightly Tester Tools 1.3b4
No New Window on Double Click 0.2.3
Quick Locale Switcher 1.6.3.7
QuickZoom 1.0.5
SmoothWheel 0.44.10.20071026
United States English Dictionary 2.0.0.6

By the way, I'm using a POP3 account, not IMAP.
WinXP Pro-SP3 (English) \ IBM M50, Pentium 4@3gh, 4gb RAM; IBM ZPro, Xeon@3.6gh, 4gb RAM; ThinkPad X41, Pentium M@1.5gh 2gb RAM; ThinkPad X60, CoreDuo@1.83gh, 2gb RAM. Thank God the cats are still on my desk.

Not seeing any crashes here with:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12pre) Gecko/20080115 Thunderbird/2.0.0.12pre ID:2008011503

However, on shutdown getting VC++ runtime error R6025 -Pure virtual function call

I'll be updating to the 16th build soon, we'll see.

Not necessarily so, when the bug occurs in safe mode, as well, as I have mentioned from the beginning.

Still no actual crashes here, but the vc++ error I indicated above.
Filed # 412708 [Thunderbird] - VC++ Runtime error R6025 on shutdown [Win]
on the issue.
Mail still sends ok for me . Just the shutdown error.

I think I'd rather create a new topic, to see who else is experiencing the same...
