Current "Gotchas" for Trunk Testers

Since 2007-08-13 You will need to "select" an app to call a link.
This is stored in mimeTypes.rdf but is not editable in the TB UI
Workaround: Don't save the selection, or backup your mimetypes.rdf.

Trunk builds can now have a Dom Inspector.
Starting with tomorrow's nightly the extension will work fine thanks to "standard8"
The extension is still in sandbox, but will be available soon.

When the all folders or email list boxes have focus, there is a one pixel solid border around them now. Does not look very good at all!

Yes, I'm seeing that too. Nothing went into TB code to cause it.
I'll take a look at core layout checkins.

Actually, it doesn't look really bad to me.

Ok, my best guess for the border showing up on focus will be addressed here:
# 419319 [Toolkit] - Global chrome overrides are enabled for all themes (aero theme broke all third-party themes) [Win]
Looks like other apps and o/s other than Winxp were affected quite severely.

I can confirm this behaviour - my OS Windows XP. Other machine with OS X works.

Does this mean you first saw the problem in a 20080304 build.
It's always helpful to include the Build ID

Yes that is correct I just read your post again. Sorry for not including the build prior but I got frustrated and removed the build and installed the release build. It happened to coincide with me changing ISP's what further drove me mad lol

Confirming the smtp problem with a nightly 2.0.0.13pre 20080305 build

--> "Thunderbird cannot contact smtp server"
smtp server was responding ok by telnet
--> same behaviour in safe mode and after reboot

--> coming back to 2.0.0.13pre 20080227 build fix the problem

Is there a bug on bugzilla for this? I don't found it

I can't reproduce the smtp problem in my accounts.
The only thing I can see related was in trunk code and not branch:
[2008-03-03 12:27]# 413721 [Core] - the (AOL/Netscape) redirection type code is not used and should be removed [All]

Someone that can reproduce should file a bug with specifics of the smtp server they use.

OK, I have just installed once more the latest nightly branch Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13pre) Gecko/20080306 Thunderbird/2.0.0.13pre - Build ID: 2008030603
The message I get when I try to send mail is this

Sending of message failed.
An error occurred sending mail: Unable to connect to smtp server mail.bigpond.com The server may be down or incorrectly configured. Please verify that your mail/news settings are correct and try sending again.

Is there anything else you need before I uninstall it again?
