No chrome package registered for chrome: *every add-on

Post by wickedchica »

After the last update, none of my add-ons have worked. I've searched the forums and did everything that I could (aka everything I understood). I uninstalled then reinstalled. I deleted the old extension files from the profile (extension.cache, extension.rdf...extension.ini did not exist). I have tried to see which extension would work in safe mode (answer: none still). I'm sure people will get upset with me because I don't know a whole lot about how computers work, so a lot of the tech explanations are over my head. I started using firefox a couple of months back, and loved it until the last update. And now, the best part of firefox won't even work. And I don't want to go back to IE.

These are the two messages entered repeatedly in my error log:

No chrome package registered for chrome://chatzilla/skin/images/logo.png .
No chrome package registered for chrome://ybookmarks/skin/mydelicious32x32.png .

This is the error:

Error: uncaught exception: Permission denied to call method Location.toString

Can anyone give me an idea what I can do?

*using Windows XP, firefox 2.0.0.14

*anti-virus AVG 8.0. No avg internet security

Could this error be the reason my add-ons aren't working?

enum process list:

Windows Firewall is on
5 Service(s) from AVG (AVG) detected
antispy process from Ad-Aware detected

nothing changed as far as settings from before the update. What can I do?
