Let me start off by saying, firefox is...great, the best browser I have ever used.

Now, with my question. My mouse wheel is very sensative (and my wife likes to press too hard anyway), and while scrolling using the wheel (which is all the time) if the mouse wheel is pressed it tries to open odd things in new tabs (words that happen to be selected, or under the cursor, or in my clipboard, etc...) needless to say this is very annoying.

Now barring disabling the middle button/wheel (I cant browser without middle click = open link in new tab) is there a way to partially disable that function so it will only open new links if its an actual link, not plain text or such?

Thats not default and might be a setting on your comp/mouse.
Try the following settings in firefox;
URL about:config
middlemouse.paste false
middlemouse.contentLoadURL false
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Awas, kelapa jatuh!

I wonder if you can help me with a middle click problem. I have my scroll button on my Logitech mouse set to double click. I also have my Options in FF under Tabbed Browsing set to open a left click on a link in a new tab. Well, neither of these is working, the middle button click, or a left click on a tab opening in a new tab as set in my options. Any suggestions?
