Is it only me, or have they fixed problem with Google Reader? Opened Reader after uptade to new nightly and no crash since then. I will try to see if it is crashing on some other sites, where it was doing so yesterday.

FWIW-Since my main use profile has both NoScript and AdBlock Plus, I was not seeing crashes on Google Reader like others. I was, however, seeing crashes when trying to access the electronic edition of the newspaper at www.dispatch.com (Columbus (OH) Dispatch, subscription site). I tried the latest T-M nightly build and did not crash there. Then I tried today's M-C nightly and did not crash there either.

This also fixes the crash I was having here.

The above is a 3-month old regression.

Bug 461395 just landed. Hopefully it will make building (well rebuilding for sure) a little quicker on Windows systems. Right now it's painfully slow at the best of times.
Cheers!

When I read rss news using live bookmarks, news favicon is mostly updated which is good mark what is read....
But now I have noticed sometimes that favicons are not updated if Minefield has been running a long time?
After Minefield restart favicons are again updated. This came with fsync I believe..? :?:

I saw this behaviour after updating to yesterday's 2008-10-29 nightly from the 28th's. Bug 410870 - Favicon not used for some feeds after visiting an entry appears to have been fixed at some point in the 3.1 trunk (still busted in branch). However when I updated from the 28 to yesterday's 29 build the favicons no longer updated when the BBC RSS feeds were read.

I thought this was permanent regression in the 08-10-29 nightly but when I reopened minefield this morning with the same 29th build the feed favicons were updating again. Your guess it has something to do with fsync may be accurate, but as yet I have not been able to recreate the condition where favicons are not updated. I will try your suggestion of just leaving minefield running for a while.

What did they change to cause a rendering speed increase? I know this isn't placebo, I was just using it not even 10 seconds before the nightly update.

Yeah I saw that with the 10-29 build. And restarting the browser fixed it. Now after using the 10-30 build for a while it's happening again.

I noticed also that I can't add a new live bookmark when this happens. I get this error:
Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsINavBookmarksService.createFolder]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/polidobj/Desktop/Firefox%20builds/cairo/firefox/components/nsLivemarkService.js :: LS__createFolder :: line 715" data: no]
And another error looks related:
Error: Async statement execution returned with '1', 'Transaction failed to commit'
Source File: file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/polidobj/Desktop/Firefox%20builds/cairo/firefox/components/nsPlacesDBFlush.js
Line: 172

Edit: Oh and livemarks don't update either.

The issue you folks are seeing is likely what I described here. I think we've got a handle on it, but it is not a pretty problem.

Yes, that may be it! It seem to be random, so it happens when IT likes, not when you are trying to get it happen... ](*,)

I assume that has this been tested with the user agent is set to only Firefox? I'm recalling how the Yahoo Mail Beta did not like "Minefield' way back when.
