Whenever I get an email through Thunderbird a small notification panel pops up in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. It used to be that clicking on that panel brought up Thunderbird, which I always have in the system tray, and the email; but no longer...usually. Sometimes it still does but usually I get no response at all. Any ideas? Am I the only one that this happens to? So far as I'm aware I have a very normal sort of setup except I use four monitors - though that's been the case for a long time now and this problem is relatively new.

Sounds like you might of enabled "When Thunderbird is minimized, move it to the tray" in the settings, and installed the Minimize on Close add-on at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/th ... -on-close/
