Is function "Remember passwords" enabled in your profile or not?
Yep, enabled.
I have it disabled. Tomorrow I'll try to test it a little more to check if it is related with this problem or not.

I can confirm that automatic mail checking for GMail account with OAuth2 is related to "Remember password" function.

"Remember password" don't need to be enabled when OAuth2 is started for the first time - password will be stored. This function must be enabled for "Normal password" authentication method and password must be remembered/saved/stored when user is asked for this to enable automatic mail checking.

When I switched authentication to "Normal password", provided my password for GMail account, cancel unsuccessful action, switched back to OAuth2 then automatic checking worked as intended (after restart too).

In "Data Manager" were two entries with passwords now (for me, of course):
1) for "gmail.com" domain was "mailbox://pop.gmail.com (mailbox://pop.gmail.com)"
2) for "google.com" domain was "oauth://accounts.google.com (https:/mail.google.com/)"

After deleting password for first one ("gmail.com") then automatic mail checking stopped to work.

I don't know if this is a bug or a feature but it's some workaround for me - enable "Remember Passwords", provide password for GMail, disable "Remember Passwords", don't remove stored passwords...
