Avant/Lunascape and its gecko engine

Post by dapgo »

I am tempted to try Avant or Lunascape webbrowsers in order to have backup browsers.
Besides the date of the last version I cannot find major differences between them?

I know that they include a gecko engine and they support FF addons.
How updated are the gecko engines? ( I cannot find information about their Gecko version)
Have you tried any of these browsers?
Differences?
Are they fully compatibility with FF addons?

a browser from 2009 is compatible to nothing. who cares about such old crap?
avant has been destroyed itself being proprietary only to itself.
any double/triple engine browser is dead. because it makes no sense to use them.

are you sure @Brummelchen?
2009? do you mean that their Gecko/firefox engine is the same than in FFv10?
Are you saying that all their versions during the last 10 years are fakes and marketing?

I suspect that you answer is based in your prejudices and a complete lack of information. I would appreciate your opinion if it had reasons or information otherwise I would just omit.
