Hi!
I just noticed that my history dwindled to around 10k items while places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages is at 150083. Which is barely more than a month. I'm more used to having a year's worth of items.
Why can this be? Did they change history expiration? Are there new about:config settings to configure expiration?
WTF? I only have one month of history right now.

Okay, now I only have less than 5000 items. Marvellous...
WTF happened all the sudden I didn't make an upgrade, nor did I install any new addons.

Not sure what's happening for you. I just checked my history, and it shows way way back.

Thanks it turns out there's a mozilla™ stupid behavior for history size. And of course they removed user settings. And I was running low on disk space, so Firefox pre-emptively caused data-loss, how forward thinking...BobbyPhoenix wrote:Not sure what's happening for you. Anyway It seems like it's possible to override with the old, nowadays hidden setting: places.history.expiration.max_pages I'm quite sure I customized that some years ago, it must have been removed by FF, so now I added as a locked setting as well as to user.js.

brilliant. I am another victim.
I have a backup places.sqlite about half-year ago, and I find that there is no easy way to import history from another places.sqlite file. So I either move back to 2021 with about 280K history entries or stay with the broken 13k history.

I ended up merging the two histories. With either this, or this. Not sure sure which I ended up using, or which works best nowadays. At least former is not abandoned yet. What's for certain, is that a bunch of my favicons disappeared, which took time to to be filled out.dindog wrote: ↑June 5th, 2022, 1:25 ambrilliant. I am another victim.

Locking as this thread had gone dormant over a year ago.
