Google Search mozillaZine Forums

Post by morat »

I only get a single result on Google when I try to do a search with the following query. I get 3 pages of results on DuckDuckGo.

Code: Select all

msgFilterRules condition site:forums.mozillazine.org
Can someone test the above query for me? Maybe the results are being blocked.

Google

DuckDuckGo

Hi morat,

DDG = Like you, it listed 3 pages.

G = Just the one.

I tried disabling uBlock Origin on Google but it still displayed just the one result.

Maybe their Abacus is broken?

Maybe it's a single, perfect result...

In a 2005 interview, Eric Schmidt said that, ideally, a Google search should yield only a single, perfect result.

“When you use Google, do you get more than one answer? Of course you do,” he told public television host Charlie Rose at the time. “Well, that’s a bug. We should be able to give you the right answer just once. We should know what you meant. You should look for information. We should get it exactly right.”

Google only supplied one but DuckDuck acted like the sorcerer's apprentice, page after page.
Why would anyone think one search result was proper, it's like thinking there's only one planet in the Universe :-k

P.S: Why would Microsoft be using an IP ID'd as MS security for DucKDuck or is that now part of the evil empire??
Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you
