Dropbox is the only website that won't load

Post by jgreer »

I didn't do it. I don't know why it happened. Dropbox.com loads for about one second, then disappears and I get a blank page. I'm using Win10, 64 bit.

You think you got problems? We don't know even what version of the browser you're using and even the browser is only a guess based on you posting here.

For me, Dropbox loads fine and, before you ask, logs in ok and then still displays and works fine.*

* test performed, as usual, with a clean default additional testing profile.

As previously reported, using SeaMonkey, dropbox loads okay, then get a blank page after clicking on login.

And?

I can't fix a problem I can't see.

Version is 2.53.16
There's nothing to show. Dropbox starts to load then says "done" when there's a blank screen. I took a picture of the blank screen with Screenhunter but don't see an "attach" button on this screen to stick it in the message.

jgreer,

There are no guarantees on this but PaleMoon has a pre-installed general override for "dropbox.com" that uses "Firefox/68.9". Maybe you can try creating a similar general agent override.

It would be a picture of a blank screen with "Done" in lower corner.

Yes, that got me to a login screen.

Thanks.

v_v how do I pre-install a general override for dropbox that uses firefox/68.9?

Frank Lion, where do I upload the picture? There's no place where I can put an attachment in my message on this page.

Go to about:config and scroll down to general.useragent.override, right click anywhere, click on "New", and for 32-bit SeaMonkey it's a 2-step process to enter:

General.useragent.override.dropbox.com

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:68.9) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.9

Aha, that makes sense. (I didn't think of that interpretation!)

I went to about:config and scrolled down but there was no "general useragent override." Now what?

In about:config, right click anywhere and enter your override and it should appear.

When I right-click I have the choice of picking copy, copy name, new (and there are three choices there), and copy value. There's no "paste" for the override I copied from your post.
