Cannot select by default image type files for upload
Hi all!
For the 1st time using this enough fast browser. But confused this problem: when I try to select from a disk existing images (*.jpg) via regular opening Windows window (why I can not insert images in attach in this forum??) in upload purpose I forced to choose each time options "All Files (*.*) instead of not useful default browser option for this window "All supported files (*.jfif, *.png)". In this case my images files (only *.jpg) are not displayed at all!!
What's wrong? how to fix it and where to set up properly default setting for drop-down box?
P.S. In Mozilla Firefox this bug is absent.

Re: Cannot select by default image type files for upload
If you're talking about this forum (mozillazine.org) specifically, it does not allow image uploads (attachments in general).(why I can not insert images in attach in this forum??)
Posting a screenshot on the forum
Or are you speaking of Composer?

No, I'm speaking about web browser only. Composer is not interesting.
Despite attachments is not allowed do you understand what I meant and what's the problem?

fuzzy_SM,
I cannot speak for therube but I find it difficult to understand your original post. That also may be why no one else has responded either.

v_v,
it would be much easier if it was possible to post pictures here. Strange politics.
Once again: I use WEB sites via Seamonkey. Sites offers upload graphic files. Ок?
While upload process started standard windows 'open file' dialog of that browser appears with its default string ' All supported file types' only '*.jfif; *.png'. NOT *.jpg !! It's not useful at all. I want attach jpg-files too. I find it inconvenient to select 'All files' every time instead of default string.
so clearer?

Re: Cannot select by default image type files for upload
You can post images in replies here, just that they need to be hosted at some place like a image host.
This forum has never had the attachment feature enabled as the number and size of attachments has always been at zero in Admin control forum statistics. The mozillaZine forum in earlier days had database and server load issues and then got a huge increase in traffic in November 2004 due to Firefox Release versions getting up to 1.0. By then it was also not enabled due to the amount of spam attempts this forum can get each day compared to legit posts. Spam is why new member first posts moderation was enabled back in March 2011.
Mozilla's own custom software community forum does allow image attachments however it does get misused by spammers and those uploading unrelated junk images when posting a new thread or replies.

Re: Cannot select by default image type files for upload
Yeah, that's kind of the impression I got yesterday.
And at first, I was kind of thinking that it is (mostly) up to the coding of a particular website as to what is allowed in the dialog box (as in a site can specifically mention filetypes that display, by default [& not that I know about such things]).
Anyhow, in such situations, you can manually type in; *.jpg, & that should then display your .jpg's.
But then you also said that it worked as wanted in FF.
So... maybe on the FF end, they're "expanding" particular mime-types to automatically include other associated types ? where ? maybe on the SeaMonkey end, they're not doing that?
URL to website where this issue is occurring?

Re: Cannot select by default image type files for upload
Of course, it's works but not convenient EACH time. I prefer to see '*.jpg' in default sequence.
Yes, in FF this problem does not exist.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I used portable version of SeaMonkey 2.53.18.2. Perhaps that's the point? But on the other side normally works FF also portable!
Here I am looking for the place of settings where can configure MIME...
I'm using only one unique site: youla.ru unfortunately you must be logged in to provide with upload process
Maybe you suggest another website where I can check identical upload behavior w/o logging?
