Seamonkey doesn't exit fullscreen when switching tabs

Post by supsm »

When a video is playing in full screen in Seamonkey, Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+T do not cause full screen to exit, instead just switching to the new tab (in fullscreen). Fullscreen can then be exited from the other tab. Firefox expectedly exits fullscreen before switching tabs.

Image Firefox can work as it pleases, and no one cares. But SeaMonkey, has always used the F11 key, you get it now?

So, it's NOT a 'Bug'

With MacOS, SeaMonkey does not use the F11 key because the operating system pre-empts it to clear all the windows off the screen. With MacOS, you have to use Cmd-Shift-F or the full screen button to get the full screen.

So what? The OP isn't using a Mac. In fact no one, apart from you, in this thread is using a Mac.

Linux users (15% of userbase) don't spam threads with irrelevant differences of their OS, so why do Mac users (5% of userbase) always feel compelled to do so?

I just thought it was a bug because there is some inconsistent behavior. You don't expect to press the "full screen" button in a youtube video and have it apply to other tabs (or at least I don't).
At least on Windows, normal F11 fullscreen retains the navigation bar, tabs bar, and adds some new icons on the top right for minimizing, un-fullscreening, and closing the window, but "video fullscreen" causes only the video to be shown. Strangely enough, going into "regular fullscreen" then attempting to fullscreen a video will skip the usual fade animation and retain the navigation/tab bar (but still "full screens" the video within the remaining space). Doesn't seem like intentional behavior to me...
