Color management in FF 3.5b4

Hi,
I've switched to the new 3.5 beta 4 version, and I've found color management has stopped working for me. Changing the values in the preference gfx.color_management.mode (to 1 or 2) doesn't make any visible changes.

Color management works fine on other builds, like this one:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090413 Shiretoko/3.5b4pre

Anybody can help me?

I've got the same problem. I read that in beta 4 there's a new color management system, totally rewritten for increased performance, but apparently there are problems with it. Did anyone find a bug on bugzilla for this already?

Sorry if this question is stupid, but does that also explain why not a single image is color-managed, while i have gfx.color_management.mode set to 1, which should make every image color managed, regardless of if it has an integrated ICC profile or not? (it should assume sRGB for non-color managed images).

I've done a couple of tests and found no issue in the Nightly. Color Management in the Beta has been set to detect for profile, though that pref should enable full Color Management regardless of profile.

Can we see an example of your images? Are they properly tagged?

A quick (read, not very good) test. On the left, Shiretoko build from 20090413, on the right, Firefox 3.5 b4. I use a wide gamut monitor, so the FF 3.5b4 looks oversaturated to me. It actually looks worse than here, but I don't know how to get a proper screenshot.

I agree that qcms in Firefox 3.1b4 isn't producing correct colors. The image nu3ve linked is oversaturated like he mentioned (as well as some other images I have tested) and they no longer match Photoshop which defeats the whole purpose of cms. Did anybody file a bug on this incorrect color problem yet?

I've heard about CMS bugs recently but I haven't seen anything filed yet. If you are going to file then providing a regression range as to when the problem occurred would be an enormous step to getting the bug fixed, along with examples like above of the pre- and post- CMS behaviour.

I can confirm that this does not work with LUT based profiles either. I've reverted back to the previous release and have no issues. Also, I've tested on the latest nightly as of last night and experienced the same issue.

Hi, I came here looking for a solution for the same problem.

From the link OmegaX above gave, it seems the file colorspace tag (sRGB, AdobeRGB, etc) is working. What's not working is the actual conversion to the monitor profile for display. That's why it's still not matching photoshop and other color-aware programs. You can see that if you enable color management, you pass the tests on that link, but change the monitor profile (or remove it) in gfx.color_management.display_profile, and it will be the same.

Broken on Dell S2409W even with linking profile in about:config. I get a much darker picture with it enabled.
